Half-Day Trekking

Half-day of easy trekking • 6km • 3-4 hours

Explore the local villages and their traditional communities!

At 9 :00 am, a local guide will pick you up at Peace Home, and you will start trekking to Van Den Su 1, the village of the Black Hmong people. You will follow the community’s small roads, go through rice terraces, and visit a few local families to learn about their traditions, customs, and language (they speak a language different from Vietnamese). You will experience the Black Hmong people’s daily life.

After that, you can visit some chapels for Christians. You will continue down the valley to Giang Ta Chai Dao, the village of the Red Dao people. You will discover here the Red Dao’s way of life, before heading to Giang Ta Chai waterfall. You’ll walk across lovely rice terraces and the old May Bridge, then go uphill to Hoa Su Pan 1, and follow the small roads of the community back to the homestay.

One-Day Trekking

Option 1

One-day of easy trekking • ~12km-15km • 5-6 hours

Explore the biggest and most famous valley of Sa Pa area!

At 9 :00 am, a local guide will meet you at Peace Home, and take you around to see the village of the Hmong people. You will then go down the valley along the lake to the village of the Red Dao people. You can visit local families and schools, before heading to Giang Ta Chai waterfall. You will then go through the Bamboo Forest to Ta Van village, where both Giay, Hmong, and Red Dao people live.

There, at noon, you can stop for lunch in a homestay or in a restaurant of the village. After lunch, you will continue hiking to the other side of the valley, to Hau Thao and Giang Ta Chai Mong villages. You will then head back to Peace Home, after seeing many different villages, meeting 3 traditional communities, and walking through the beautiful Muong Hoa valley across rice fields and forests.

One-day of hard trekking • ~15km-20km • 8 hours

Explore the stunning nature of Sa Pa off the beaten tracks!

At 9 :00 am, a local guide will meet you at Peace Home, and take you to see the villages of the Black Hmong people. You will follow trails to a small waterfall named Thac Ngua Bay (Horse Flying Waterfall). After that, you will climb the mountain along a small stream through a bamboo forest and jungle. You can hike up to the top of the mountain, and from there, enjoy a beautiful view on the valley and surrounding mountains, it is amazing. You might not see any tourists. You will stop near a small waterfall to have a picnic lunch.

After lunch, you will hike out of the forest to the village of Ban Lech – Thanh Kim, where the Red Dao people live. You will then visit Ban Den, the village of the Tay people, and Van Den Su 1, the village of the Black Hmong people. You will then head back to Peace Home, after having done a difficult trek, visiting the villages of 3 minorities, hiking through the bamboo forest and jungle, seeing beautiful views of rice terraces and valleys, and meeting local families and schools. Come back to the homestay full of joy. If you are tired, we will pick you up by car or motorbike.

One-Day Trekking

One-day of long trekking • ~20km-25km • 8 hours

Explore the stunning nature and waterfalls of Sa Pa off the beaten tracks!

At 9:00 am, our local guide will greet you at Peace Home. You will start trekking through Muong Hoa valley, along Su Pan lake to Giang Ta Chai, the village of the Red Dao people. You will then hike up following buffalo trails through bamboo forests and jungles. You might not see any tourists on the way. It is very spectacular, but the path is difficult. Then, you will reach the remote villages of the Red Dao and Black Hmong people in Seo Trung Ho. You will see a very nice waterfall, where you can swim. You will then have a picnic lunch with a local family around 1:30 pm.

You will then continue hiking up to see Ma Quai Ho village, before walking downhill to Ban Ho, the village of the Tay people. In Muong Bo Valley, you will see a small waterfall named Lavie, and visit local schools and families as well. At about 4:00 pm, our driver will pick you up at Ban Ho village to bring you back to the homestay. You will finish the tour after trekking a long way, exploring many villages, meeting three minorities in Muong Hoa and Muong Bo valleys, seeing beautiful rice terrace fields and forests. It is amazing and unforgettable.

At 6:30 am, we will drive you by car or motorbike from Peace Home to Sa Pa Town to join the tour. You will spend 3 hours joining the local tribal people (Flower Hmong, Black Dao, Phu La, and Tay  people) for the market activities in a festive atmosphere. All people wear their best traditional costumes to gather every Sunday for selling and buying at the market. They bring not only the beauty of their dressing, but also their traditions and cultures. The cattle and handcrafted clothing sections are delightful. Then, at 11:00, comes the food section where people meet, talk, enjoy food, and drink a very special local drink made of corn wine. You can try some local food for lunch and enjoy your meal in the market with the local people.

In the afternoon, you will spend time visiting another village, Ban Pho, which is an old village (more than 100 years old). Say goodbye to Bac Ha and get back to Sa Pa. On the way back, you will stop to see the Chinese border in Lao Cai. Then, you can either come back to Sa Pa, or stay at Lao Cai train station. From Sapa, you can take a taxi back to Peace Home. From Lao Cai, you can take a bus to Hanoi.
